Stranger Synths 2019

In honor of the third season of Stranger Things dropping today, Low Light Mixes presents Stranger Synths 2019. This a retro synth mix that falls right in line with the synth sounds of Netflix's Stranger Things series.

Cheers!

The artwork looks the same, but that is where the similarity stops.

What was enjoyable about the 2016 version, as I mentioned in my March 2017 comment, was that the elements of the mix do not overstay their welcome. I am afraid that characteristic was lost in this reincarnation.

As we know, synth composers of this period had to find ways to fill out the length of the new CD media, and therefore carried their compositions past the point of enjoy-ability to monotony under the excuse of minimalism. Here the selections are not sampled, some are virtually replicated. That does not make for an interesting mix, especially when we have several minutes of the more modern Locust cut recycled.

Throw-back style mixes like these should present there elements succinctly. Less is More.
