Summer Stargazing

I have been making stargazing and space themed mixes for a long time. But I realized that I haven't posted a straightforward stargazing mix for almost two years. So this mix fixes that.

All the tracks are fairly new, with half of them being from this year. Some tracks are from low light mixes regulars like Loscil, Loneward and Hipnotic Earth alongside new discoveries like RIKAAR, Tone Color and Audio Obscura.

Here are links to all the albums used in this mix in the order in which they appear:

Cheers!

Summer stargazing is the most difficult stargazing because there is the greatest density of atmospheric moisture to see through, however we can see crystal clearly at what Dave has defined for us in this mix as "stargazing" and previous mix as "undeniably ambient". We've learned "stargazing" music is based on ambient core, like the prior mix, but in addition has an "hymnal"-style chord progression whereby each chord is presented in a "pulse"; that is to say a crescendo-decrescendo pair. This characteristic dominates this mix.

Even when we get to the Pruski, which breaks with a higher pitched "tingling" line, the lower square wave synths still keep the supporting "stargazing" structure. (The mix's last two cuts are "space-walkers" rather that stargazers as we no longer have the midrange hymnal chord progression to stand on below our feet.)

We see what you did here Dave and it does help us understand these genres.
