Best of 2006

Looking back on 2006, I guess it was another pretty good year for music. I like doing lists like this because it makes me resurrect cd's that I haven't listened to recently. Like the fabulous RF - Views of Distant Towns. I had almost forgotten that it came out in 2006.

I've noticed as the years have gone by, that my "best of" lists contain less and less ambient music. Now, a lot of the releases on this list have ambient qualities, but are not exactly ambient music per se. This year Scott Solter, Andrew Chalk & Forest Fang fill my traditional ambient quota in the list.

There was no way I could keep the list to a top ten. So here is my list, in no particular order, of the best of 2006(I reserve the right to add to it whenever I feel like it).
Please add your own lists in the comments section.

  1. Rf - Views of Distant Towns

  1. wow--this is a great list!

lots here i haven't heard that i'll check out because you've got great taste, i'm sure they are all stellar.

i can never make lists of any kind (of music, movies, etc), it just causes far too much anxiety.

happy new year, and thanks for the great music!

  2. Hi Dave!

I see our lists are going to have some similarities! I'm still deciding my final choices, but I'll have something posted before the new year. I'm trying to limit myself to ten selections. (Tough.)

BTW, where is that Deaf Center available? I did not see it for DL on the Type site!
