somewhere else by Michael McGarrity

Friend of the show, Michael McGarrity, offered to create a guest mix and, of course, I jumped at the chance because Michael has been cranking out excellent mixes for several years. You can find his stuff here:

Here's what Michael has to say about this mix:

"I made this mix to help remember those long summer days and nights which feel so far away in February. It was a particularly rainy Saturday when I put this together & all I wanted was to get away to somewhere dry & warm, even if just with a soundtrack. Hopefully this takes you away to that 'somewhere else' too."

I've said this before, but one reason I love guest mixes is they are a combo of familiar and unfamiliar artists. It's always cool to hear new stuff mixed in with favorites.

Here are links to every album used in this set, in the same order in which they appear in the mix:

Thanks for the mix Michael!

Cheers!

  1. This mix has a special feel — nostalgic, elegiac and uplifting of hopeful in equal measure, with a unified sound and throughout the mix, as mixed should. I thought I should post as none has. Happy 2023!
