Enosification

This is another new kind of mix for the blog.  This is an all Eno mix.

I came across the Eno tune "Spider & I " in a recently downloaded mix & I was reminded of how much I like Eno's voice.  So I thought why not collect some favorite vocal tunes together in one place.

For the first half of the mix I alternate between vocal tunes & instrumentals.  I thought this might be nice to break things up a bit.  About half way through I realized I'd run out of time so I went to all vocals.  I love singing along with his songs & it is nice to have some favorites all together.

The title comes from Genesis' "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" album, where Eno is credited with "enosification."  Which he described this way..."I would take existing instruments and feed them through various devices to 'weird them up'."

I mentioned that I heard Eno in a mix, of course I can't remember which mix it was, but I do want to mention a coiple fine mixes that I've downloaded recently.  One comes from Brian Bieniowski & can be found here...asphalteden.   The other is called "Utsura-Utsura" and can be found here DREAMSCENES

I hope you enjoy the all-Eno mix.....

I'm really intrigued by this - great tracklisting. Will download later.

Another Day On Earth got a fairly lukewarm reception when it came out but I think there are some great pieces on there.

Cheers for the mix

It's another day on earth and another great mix on Low Light. I've never really listened to the early Eno albums very much--they just never interested me. I guess I'm going to have to go back and rediscover them. It's interesting how one's taste in music changes over time. I also didn't like Another Day on Earth much at first but now I think that "This" is one of Eno's best songs. Great job D-V! :)

Tony Banks is quoted as saying 'all he did was twiddle a few knobs' while PG is said to have liked the distortion on the vocals on 'The Grand Parade Of Lifeless Packaging'.

If you were to dig through a random neighbor's record collection, chances are you'd come across something with Brian Eno's fingerprints on it

"A Different Kind of Blue" is also a good Eno vocal track from the Passengers collab. w/ U2:

Lots of spam postings here--bummer about that. I didn't realize Another Day on Earth wasn't well received. I don't care much for Eno's early vocal work, but I love that vocal album of his as well as Drums Between the Bells.
